**1/1/2012 Update**
I was at Target today and noticed the standard Rack unit (not the Pro model) was selling for $99 AND you get a $20 Target gift card with purchase. The official Rack Workout website http://www.rackworkout.com has the price still at $159 for the single pay option. The standard model listed the Rack weight at 23 pounds. The pro model weighs 30 pounds and feels a little more durable. Anyway, this is a great deal at Target while it lasts.

I received my Rack Workout Station a few days ago. It only took 4 days to arrive. Not bad considering I opted for the free shipping option. The expected delivery time was 2-3 weeks.
Before I purchased my Rack I went looking around for some reviews on the product but didn’t really find any. I decided to write my experience with using this workout machine. It’s going to be an ongoing write-up as I go through the workout routine with this system.
As I mentioned, The Rack Workout Station arrived after only a few days. The package was fairly small and easy to carry around to where I was going to assemble it. There’s only 3 main pieces so assembly was quick and pretty easy. I installed it myself so you don’t need any assistance to put it together. Read more on my Rack Workout Station review…..

Green and Black Tea are Super Foods (drinks)
Our next super food isn’t a food at all, it’s a drink. More specifically, green or black tea is becoming very common and can even been seen as an option next to the soda fountain at many restaurants. It can be served up hot or cold and comes in many varities, including raspberry and mango flavored.
Tea is considered an ultra good source for those antioxidants you’ve been hearing so much about. With cancer inhibiting properties, antioxidants are the latest buzz word for good reason. Recent research has also shown that black tea is packed with as much antioxidant punch as green tea. Let your personal tastes be the deciding factor on which one you choose. You really can’t go wrong if you drink black or green tea on a regular basis.
Lower cholosterol levels are another benefit found in people who drank tea frequently. There’s a little caveat to be aware of however. As with anything else, the moment you add sugar and preservatives to something, you begin to lose the natural goodness of that product. Many of the teas offered side-by-side to the sodas contain as much sugar as soda drinks. Several of these “wanna be” teas only contain about 10% actual tea content. Go for the teas that have their own separate brewing device. This way you know the tea is being brewed fresh and not coming from a bag of sugar syrup boosted with carbonation. These are usually the tea choices you want to make. It’s a delicious and easy way to put more good into your body.

A balanced healthy diet doesn’t have to be boring. You can jazz up your selection with different recipes. For a case in point, adding bacon to mashed spuds changes the flavor and feel while giving them a protein boost. Bacon in itself isn’t healthy, but used in small amounts it can add plenty of flavor. Instead of frying pork chops, try coating them with a crispy breadcrumb and parmesan cheese mix and baking them. You can also try different vegetable recipes from various cultures and make it your goal to try at least one new veggie a week.
These little tips can add more excitement to your healthy meal planning and keep things exciting at dinner time. This will increase the chances that you’ll continue to eat healthy and resist turning back to greasy, fattening and sugary options.

Our next super food that we’ll be discussing is Omega 3. Omega 3 is an unsaturated, fatty acid that packs a punch when it comes to preparing your body against diseases.
Omega 3 has been found in multiple scientific studies to help prevent or lesson the effects of diseases such as cancer and heart disease.
There is also evidence to show that it may be beneficial in slowing down cognitive degeneration, such as Alzheimer’s.
Most people associate Omega 3 properties with salmon. This is true that Omega 3 is found in many cold water fish, especially salmon. However, it can also be found in certain plants, most notably in flax seeds.
It’s recommended that you incorporate foods rich in Omega 3 at least 4 times per week. If you don’t enjoy eating fish, you can buy supplements of Omega 3 pills. As mentioned above, flax seeds are also loaded with this fatty acid. Many people will add ground flax seeds into cereals, smoothies and just about any other recipe you like. It’s mostly tasteless and doesn’t change the flavor of the dish.
No matter how you prefer to consume this super food, incorporating it into your daily and weekly meals will help keep you healthy and vibrant. Check back often to read about the latest super food post.

Today we look at the many benefits of spinach. Everyone knows this leafy green as the food of choice for Popeye. The big muscles that Popeye developed was partially the result of eating all that spinach. Spinach is loaded with several vitamins and minerals. Vitamin C, K, A, iron, potassium, folate and magnesium to name a few.
Spinach is also high in anti-oxidant properties which can be helpful in preventing diseases. The anti-inflammatory properties of this vegetable can also help lessen the effects of arthritis and other degenerative diseases.
If you want a versatile veggie then this is the one for you. It can be eaten raw, use it as a replacement for lettuce on sandwiches and salads. Or add it as a pizza topping or stir fry mix. Spinach is a great diet food and single source of great nutritional value. These are some of the reasons spinach made our super food list.

Everyone starts out being motivated when beginning a diet, but that soon falls off as people get tired, bored or just plain lazy. If you’re not seeing weight loss results then staying motivated to continue your diet is not easy. Others see quick fat loss results but then see their gains plateau. This may also cause you to “fall off the wagon” so to speak.
Just begin each day knowing what you need to do. Be disciplined on knowing how you’re going to stay within your eating limits for that day. Don’t think about tomorrow, next week or your overall weight loss goals. Be successful with it today and then worry about tomorrow when it arrives. As with anything else, take it one day at a time and you will increase your chances of being diet motivated for a long period of time.

A low carb diet plan has become popular recently. It’s definitely not a diet plan for everyone, but for certain people it may make sense. Carbs are sugars that are found in almost everything we eat. Too much sugar and you increase your chances of health related problems such as diabetes.
Carbs also contribute to weight gain if eaten in excess. The Atkins diet made the low carb diet craze really explode. By carefully monitoring your carbohydrate intake, you will cut out sugars and calories. The result can lead to weight loss. However, by cutting out things such as bread and fruits, you also run the risk of reducing vitamins and grains that your body needs.
A typical low carb meal would include high amounts of protein like in meats and beans, vegetables and water. You’ll start eating sandwiches without the bread or steak without the potato. Not a compromise some of you are willing to make.
A somewhat LOWER carb diet may be a good compromise to a LOW carb diet. It’s a good idea to lower your sugar intake, but don’t completely cut out things like fruits just because they have a high sugar content.
Remember to consult a doctor about any weight loss program before starting one.
